Hire me to secure, ship and govern your cloud

I am Abraham — a Cloud and Product Solutions Architect working remotely with teams in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe. I secure cloud environments, build the delivery pipelines and clusters underneath them, do the technical work behind SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR and AI risk programmes, and build products when a team needs the thing itself and not just the advice.

    01

    Cloud security consulting

This is the work I get asked for most: someone has a cloud account that grew faster than its controls, and they need an honest read on where the exposure is and a fix list they can actually work through. I do the assessment, then I stay long enough to close the findings with you.

Cloud Security Assessment (GCP, Azure, AWS)

    US$1,500 fixed price

    5 business days

A fixed-scope review of one cloud environment: network exposure, IAM, encryption, logging, and organisation policies, with a prioritised fix list your team can act on.

    • Risk-scored findings report
    • Network and firewall exposure map
    • Prioritised remediation plan with exact configuration changes
    • 60-minute findings walkthrough with your engineers

Limited-access default: Default access is read-only and time-bound. For sensitive systems, I can work from exported evidence or a guided screen share. No production write access or destructive testing without explicit written scope.

    Cloud security architecture review

Before you build or migrate, I review the design: trust boundaries, service perimeters, key management, tenancy and blast radius. I write the design decisions down so future engineers inherit reasoning, not guesswork.

    • Architecture review document
    • Threat model
    • Reference diagrams
    • Decision log

    Zero-trust and identity-first access

I replace VPNs and flat network trust with identity-aware access: IAP and BeyondCorp-style policies, VPC Service Controls perimeters, workload identity federation so nobody ships service-account keys again.

    • Access policy rollout
    • Service perimeters
    • Keyless workload identity
    • Break-glass runbook

    IAM and least-privilege cleanup

I audit every binding, strip standing privilege, replace it with just-in-time elevation and group-based roles, and leave you a review process that keeps permissions from creeping back.

    • Permission inventory
    • Least-privilege role design
    • Stale key and account removal
    • Quarterly review process

Cloud incident response and detection engineering

I build the detection layer — log pipelines, SIEM rules, alert routing — and write the runbooks your team follows at 3am. If something already happened, I help you scope it, contain it and document it.

    • Log and SIEM pipeline
    • Detection rules
    • On-call runbooks
    • Post-incident report

    Penetration testing and vulnerability management

Targeted testing of your cloud workloads and web applications, plus the boring part that actually reduces risk: a scanning and patch workflow that keeps findings from piling up.

    • Test findings with proof
    • Severity triage
    • Patch workflow
    • Retest after fixes

    DevSecOps, Kubernetes and platform engineering

Teams call me when shipping has become slow and scary. I put the pipeline, the cluster and the infrastructure code back on a footing where releases are routine and security checks happen without anyone remembering to run them.

    CI/CD pipeline design and implementation

Commit-to-production pipelines with tests, image scanning, signing and progressive delivery built in. Canary or blue-green rollouts, and a rollback that works when you need it.

    • Pipeline as code
    • Scanning and signing gates
    • Progressive delivery
    • Rollback drill

    Kubernetes cluster hardening

I harden GKE, AKS or EKS: private control planes, workload identity, admission policy, network policy, runtime detection — then I show your team how to keep it that way.

    • Hardening baseline
    • Policy-as-code admission rules
    • Network policies
    • Runtime detection

    Kubernetes migration and cost tuning

Moving workloads onto Kubernetes without a six-month detour, or fixing a cluster that costs more than it should — right-sizing, autoscaling, node strategy and quotas.

    • Migration plan
    • Manifests and Helm charts
    • Autoscaling and right-sizing
    • Cost report

    Terraform and infrastructure as code

I turn hand-built environments into reviewed, reusable modules with state management, drift detection and a plan-and-approve workflow — so environments stop drifting apart.

    • Terraform modules
    • Remote state and locking
    • Policy checks in CI
    • Drift monitoring

    Software supply-chain security

SBOMs, dependency and container scanning, provenance and binary authorization so only builds from your pipeline reach production.

    • SBOM generation
    • Provenance and signing
    • Admission enforcement
    • Dependency policy

    Observability and SRE setup

Metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerts that map to how users actually experience the product, with SLOs and error budgets your team agrees on.

    • Dashboards
    • SLOs and alerts
    • Trace instrumentation
    • On-call handbook

    Cloud migration and modernisation

Lift-and-shift or re-platform, run as a sequenced plan with rollback at every step — plus the disaster-recovery test that proves the new environment survives failure.

    • Migration waves
    • Cutover plan
    • DR and backup verification
    • Post-migration review

    FinOps and cloud cost optimisation

I find where the money goes, cut the waste, and set up commitments, budgets and per-team showback so spend stays visible after I leave.

    • Spend breakdown
    • Savings actions
    • Commitment plan
    • Budget alerts and showback

    Compliance and governance engineering

I do the technical half of compliance: the controls, the evidence and the automation behind an audit. I am an engineer, not a lawyer — I build and prove the controls, and I work alongside whoever gives you legal advice.

SOC 2 readiness (technical controls and evidence)

I map your environment to the controls an auditor will ask about, close the technical gaps, and automate evidence collection so the next audit is a report, not a scramble.

    • Control gap analysis
    • Remediation build-out
    • Automated evidence pipeline
    • Auditor-ready documentation

    ISO 27001 technical implementation support

Annex A controls translated into real cloud configuration — access control, logging, cryptography, backup, change management — with the artefacts your certification body expects.

    • Control mapping
    • Configuration changes
    • Evidence artefacts
    • Internal audit prep

    HIPAA technical safeguards

For health platforms: encryption, audit controls, access management, retention and BAA-scoped architecture, implemented and documented against the security rule.

    • Safeguard implementation
    • Audit log integrity
    • Retention and backup controls
    • Scope documentation

    GDPR, NDPA and privacy engineering

Data mapping, residency, minimisation, DSAR handling and deletion that actually deletes — built into the system rather than promised in a policy document.

    • Data inventory and flows
    • Residency controls
    • DSAR and deletion workflows
    • Processor documentation

    Cloud governance and policy-as-code

Guardrails at the organisation level: landing zones, org policies, tagging, budget and access baselines enforced automatically for every new project or subscription.

    • Landing zone design
    • Org policy baseline
    • Tagging and naming standards
    • Automated guardrails

    Third-party and vendor risk review

A technical review of the vendors handling your data — what they access, how they authenticate, what happens when they are breached — plus the questionnaire answers you keep re-writing.

    • Vendor inventory
    • Access and integration review
    • Risk ratings
    • Reusable questionnaire responses

AI risk management and AI governance

Model inventory, risk classification, bias and drift monitoring, human-review checkpoints and documentation aligned to emerging AI risk frameworks — the work I do with risk teams today.

    • Model and use-case inventory
    • Risk classification
    • Monitoring and review controls
    • Governance documentation

    Security awareness and engineering training

Live, hands-on sessions for your engineers and support staff on cloud security, Kubernetes, Intune, RHEL, GDPR or secure delivery — the format I run for banks and enterprises.

    • Tailored curriculum
    • Live workshop
    • Lab exercises
    • Recording and handbook

Product intelligence and AI build work

The other half of what I do is build products. If you have an idea, a rough prototype or a platform that needs data and AI features to earn its keep, this is where I help.

    MVP build for startups

I take a concept to a working, deployed product with authentication, payments and analytics wired in — built on infrastructure that will not need replacing at your first hundred customers.

    • Scoped build plan
    • Deployed application
    • Auth, payments, analytics
    • Handover documentation

    AI feature and LLM integration

Retrieval, document intelligence, assistants and automation added to an existing product — with guardrails, evaluation and cost controls, not a demo that breaks in production.

    • Integration architecture
    • Prompt and retrieval pipeline
    • Evaluation harness
    • Cost and safety guardrails

    Product analytics instrumentation

Event schema, tracking, funnels and dashboards so you can see where users drop off — and a weekly view your team will actually open.

    • Event taxonomy
    • Instrumentation
    • Funnel dashboards
    • Reporting cadence

    Data platform and pipeline engineering

Warehouse modelling, ingestion pipelines and reporting layers that turn scattered operational data into something the business can query.

    • Warehouse schema
    • Ingestion pipelines
    • Transformation jobs
    • Reporting layer

Technical due diligence and fractional advisory

A candid read on an engineering estate — architecture, security, delivery, key-person risk — for investors or founders, or ongoing advisory a few hours a week.

    • Diligence report
    • Risk register
    • Prioritised roadmap
    • Advisory sessions

App store launch and release engineering

Getting a product through store review and into a repeatable release cycle: signing, metadata, privacy declarations, staged rollout and crash monitoring.

    • Store listings
    • Signing and release pipeline
    • Privacy declarations
    • Crash and release monitoring

    Questions I get asked first

How do you usually start an engagement?

With a short call and a fixed-scope first piece of work — normally an assessment or review. You get something useful out of it whether or not we continue, and I get enough context to be honest about what comes next.

Do you work with clients in the US, Canada and Australia?

Yes. I work remotely across North American, Australian and European time zones, and I keep overlapping hours with your team for reviews, workshops and incident work.

Do you take on short projects or only long retainers?

Both. Assessments, reviews, hardening sprints and training sessions are short and fixed-scope. Platform, compliance and product work usually run as a retainer or a monthly block of days.

Is your compliance work legal advice?

No. I implement and prove the technical controls behind frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR and the NDPA. Legal interpretation stays with your counsel or auditor, and I work alongside them.

Tell me what is on fire

Send me a paragraph about your environment and what is worrying you. I will reply with how I would approach it, what it would take, and whether I am the right person for it.
